FCAIT, MSc(IT)programme organized one day educational tour to Champaner-Pavagadh – archaeological park on 1st July 2017. The Champaner-Pavagadh archaeological park is in-scripted by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2004. The day commenced with great enthusiasm and joy with a beautiful ambience generated by monsoon. 52 students were accompanied by 4 faculty members. The first halt was near baroda expressway for tea and breakfast. Around 10AM the group reached the great pilgrimage of Gujarat – Pavagadhdham to seek the blessings of Maa Kali. The experience was filled with excitement to travel to the dham by ropeway as the temple is located at 2500 feet from land.
After seeking blessings the group had their lunch at Pavagadh and spent some leisure time with outdoor and indoor activities such as kaddabi and ludo. The ambience of Pavagadh was spellbound and soothing during to pre-monsoon rains. Around 4 PM the group of students and faculties headed towards Champaner - the heritage park. Students could witness numerous monuments like Ek-Minarki Masjid, Helical Step well, Shaher-ki-Masjid and highlight of the visit was the magnificent Jama-Masjid. The students witnessed and studied the fine architecture of the masjid which is unique amalgam of different styles of architecture.
The purpose of this heritage visit was to inculcate in the young technosavvy minds love for the country and the rooted values to preserve, protect and promote the varied heritage and culture of our country India. Around 6PM the tour reached the famous and holy place of Gujarat to seek blessings from Lord Dakorji to attend the evening aarti. After seeking the blessings from Dakorji the group had their dinner at Dakor and headed back to Ahmedabad. The overall experience was quite delightful.
